2026 Sochi Winter International Arts Festival

In February 2026, the Jiangsu Performing Arts Group presented Ink Wash Jiangnan at the Sochi Winter International Arts Festival, held at the Sochi Winter Theatre. The production was the only Chinese dance performance invited to the festival that year. LiGHT SKY supplied fixtures for the production's stage lighting design.

Four fixture types were deployed across the production:

The Super Scope Max moving head profile handled key light and beam shaping, giving lighting designers precise control over focused highlights and clean gobo edges that tracked with dancer movement.

The Aquapearl Pro contributed beam and wash textures, used for color transitions and fluid mid-air effects suited to the production's ink-and-water visual theme.

Context

The Sochi Winter International Arts Festival is an annual international cultural event using the Sochi Winter Theatre as its main venue, with programming across music, theatre, and dance. The production's visual concept — referencing Jiangnan ink wash painting — placed specific demands on the lighting design in terms of color temperature, texture, and transitions between atmospheric and high-contrast states.
